About Darling House

The Darling clan originated in the River Tweed, in Southern Scotland in 1293 AD. It's ancestors migrated to America on the Mayflower, to Middleboro, Massachusetts and then on to Rutland, Vermont and Cherry Creek, New York (South of Buffalo, New York).

Liz and Steve Pattison met at the Historic Eagle House Restaurant in Buffalo, NY. After a romantic courtship the two married at the Dalhousie Castle in Scotland. They honeymooned touring castles, visiting pubs and viewing the beautiful country sides in and around Scotland. The story book wedding was easy to convince Liz to share her husbands passion for wanting to find ways to put a "Little Celtic Charm in your day". Thus the birth of the Darling House Pub and Grill, where they hope neighbors will eat, meet and greet.

Steve & Liz moved from Buffalo, NY to Southport, NC in 2000, and subsequently moved to Pinehurst in 2006 to make Moore County their permanent home. By the end of 2007 the dream of building an authentic Scottish Pub celebrating Steve's ancestral clan, The Darlings was to become a reality in the old Pinehurst Sundry. As you can see in the details of the atmosphere Steve and Liz have put thought in every detail in hopes for others to join them in their appreciation for Scotland and Ireland. The Darling House Pub & Grill is Steve and Liz's labor of love.

Today the Pattison Family invites you to enjoy genuine comfort, outstanding Pub cuisine & the Celtic charm of the Darling House Pub & Grill. It is the mission and warmest wish of all of us, that unfamiliar faces will become familiar and strangers will become friends. Steve & Liz look forward to seeing you soon!
